Der finnische Designer Alvar Aalto entwarf den Hocker 60 1933 für die Bibliothek in Viipuri. Das minimalistische Design fand schnell Anklang, sodass der Hocker 1935 in das Standardsortiment von Artek überging. Darüber hinaus avancierte er zum Sinnbild der finnischen Moderne. In den 1940er Jahren entwickelte sich der Dreibeiner sich zu einem beliebten Bestseller und seitdem kennt seine Popularität keine Grenzen.
Das funktionale Sitzmöbel weist in seiner Originalversion drei Beine auf, ist aber auch in einer vierbeinigen Version erhältlich. Die simple Form besticht mit der speziellen Krümmung der Beine, die typisch für den Stil des Designers ist. Die Beine sind mit der Sitzfläche spezifisch verleimt, sodass eine optische Einheit entsteht.

Designer Alvar Aalto machte sich das in Finnland massig vorhandene Birkenholz zu Ntzen, somit war der Hocker auch für ärmere Familien erschwinglich. Auch heutzutage besteht das schlichte Möbelstück weiterhin aus dem Holz, welches zusätzlich lackiert ist.

Der finnische Designer Alvar Aalto entwarf den Hocker 60 1933 für die Bibliothek in Viipuri. Das minimalistische Design fand schnell Anklang, sodass der Hocker 1935 in das Standardsortiment von Artek überging. Darüber hinaus avancierte er zum Sinnbild der finnischen Moderne. In den 1940er Jahren entwickelte sich der Dreibeiner sich zu einem beliebten Bestseller und seitdem kennt seine Popularität keine Grenzen.
Das funktionale Sitzmöbel weist in seiner Originalversion drei Beine auf, ist aber auch in einer vierbeinigen Version erhältlich. Die simple Form besticht mit der speziellen Krümmung der Beine, die typisch für den Stil des Designers ist. Die Beine sind mit der Sitzfläche spezifisch verleimt, sodass eine optische Einheit entsteht.
